ATTENTIVENESS

Judges should not all be of the same gender, perspectives, or racial backgrounds. I value individual differences and respect the unique strengths and values that each person contributes.

I appreciate the range of experiences I have encountered in my 47 years of life, from marriage and divorce to raising both children and stepchildren, as well as coping with the loss of family members due to drug addiction. These experiences allow me to connect with many on a deeper level.

A key strength of a judge should be the capacity to listen and render sound decisions. When I am elected, I will uphold the law while ensuring that everyone feels heard in my courtroom.

"The Summit County judicial bench should represent the diverse community it serves, with judges from various life experiences, racial backgrounds, and socioeconomic statuses. For over two decades, I have advocated for clients who often have little in common with the judges they face. As both a practicing attorney and a magistrate, I have learned how to connect with people and ensure they feel heard. When elected, I will continue this approach as a judge, striving to shift the dynamic by truly listening to those who appear before me. Every case will get the attention it deserves, rather than being reduced to just a case number in the system."
